Wendie Renard’s brace and the inspirational form of Amandine Henry and Eugenie Le Sommer were the undoubted highlights of the morale-boosting win for France, one which sends them to the top of the Group A table ahead of Saturday’s match between fellow group hopefuls Norway and Nigeria.

CAF President Ahmad released by the French investigators; no charges against him

CAF president Ahmad Ahmad has just been released by the French judicial authorities without charges against him.




Ahmad was arrested on Thursday morning at the Berri Hotel in Paris after being accused of contract fraud, mismanagement of CAF funds, and the payment of US$ 20,000 sums directly into the private bank accounts of federation presidents.

Jeune Afrique reported Ahmad was asked about allegations that CAF unilaterally broke a contract with German sports merchandise giant Puma, before signing a merchandise deal with a French supplier.

Kwateng has improved tremendously under coach Vahid Halilhodzic, the 21-year old right back has played 21 Ligue 1 matches out of 25.

His contract runs till the end of the season and is likely to renew.

The 21-year-old has represented France at the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels.
