Aduana Stars coach Joseph Asare Bediako acknowledged and praised two key Kotoko players after the goalless draw at the CAM Park on Saturday in the Matchweek 27 of the Premier League.

Asare Bediako revealed the result was fair since the play was ’50-50′ on Saturday. He also revealed that his team mapped out certain strategies to beat Kotoko; one of them was man-marking their best players.

“We mapped out some strategies which if you don’t know football, you will say they are dominating but we were just looking out for some individual players”

“Mudasiru and Gama, you know they were perfect players and we mapped out some strategy to break them down and stop them from coming” he added.

Asante Kotoko are yet to beat Aduana Stars at the CAM Park in the club’s history.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Great Olympics vs Aduana

The Accra Sports Stadium will witness a mouthwatering midweek clash between two former Ghana Premier League champions, Accra Great Olympics and Aduana stars.

The duo is coming into this fixture with contrasting domestic forms, hopes, and aspirations, the home side are brewing with loads of confidence after doing the impossible against WAFA SC, who had not lost a match at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena in over six years.

Coach Annor Walker and his boys sit 2nd a point adrift Kumasi Asante Kotoko, they have played above expectations this season for a team that was nearing the exit of the premier league a season past but for its truncation.

The likes of Gladson Awako, Maxwell Quaye, Ashie-Quaye Samuel, and Kasim Razak have been impressive pushing the club to its second premier league trophy.

The Ogya boys are coming into this fixture on the back of a vital win against regional rivals Berekum Chelsea at the Nana Agyemang Badu park II, they lie 8th on the log with 33 points something they will be looking to increase tomorrow.

Aduana Stars have been victorious on 6 separate occasions out of 8 duels that they have engaged the home side in the league.

Predictions: Great Olympics 2-1 Aduana Stars

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Medeama vs WAFA

Last week’s matchday twenty-three (23) saw Medeama SC lost some grounds on their title ambitions when they failed to score past Liberty Professionals at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.

To some extent, the morale in camp would be at a low but the onus lies on the head coach, Yaw Preko to light up the playing body spirits when they play Sogakope based side, WAFA at the Akoon Park.

With Medeama SC heading into this duel, their home invincibility should give them the edge over their weekend opponents.

The Mauve and Yellow side have won their last five games convincingly, which has aided their point accumulation at home to 27 points.

The likes of Prince Agyemang, Ahmed Toure, and Zakaria Mumuni have been impressive since joining up with the squad aiding in twelve goals in as many matches that the trio have played together.

WAFA SC on the other hand, bruised following their first home loss in over six years against title ambitious side, Great Olympics will give this game their all knowing that a win will boost them up to 6th on the log if other results switch up in their favor.

Coach Prosper Narteh and his boys have since picked twelve (12) point playing away from home and if they don’t play well beyond expectations they won’t be able to add up to their two previous victories over the home side having lost four times and drawing two in eight games that they have engaged the two-time FA Cup champions.

Predictions: Medeama SC 2-0 WAFA

Kotoko learned from Medeama defeat – Mariano Barreto

Asante Kotoko boss Mariano Barreto has applauded his team for learning from their previous mistakes to come from behind to grab an important win against Dreams FC on Saturday.

The Porcupines registered a 3-1 win against Dreams FC to climb up to the league table after Gameweek 23.

Mariano Barreto attributed his team’s fighting spirit to the lesson they learned from defeat against Medeama in Gameweek 21.

“We didn’t give up (after conceding), it was in the hard moment we started remembering what happened against Medeama,” he said

“This is why we are working hard to try to solve these problems and we equalized. In the second half, we created a number of chances of goals and it was too much for Dreams” he added.

Asante Kotoko host Ebusua Dwarfs in their next game and will be looking to maintain their spot at the top of the table.

GPL: Reason why Ebusua Dwarfs-Legon Cities game was abandoned

The game between Ebusua Dwarfs and Legon Cities in Cape Coast was abandoned on Sunday afternoon after the match officials refused to return to the pitch for the second half.

Legon Cities official Twitter handle tweeted and stated that the referee’s failure to report to the pitch in the second half was due to threats he received from the home fans as the referee didn’t “feel safe to continue”.

After the tweet, the home side Ebusua Dwarfs used their Twitter handle to deny news that fans threatened the officials during the game in Cape Coast.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Medeama vs Ebusua Dwarfs

In the last three seasons, Medeama SC have come close to winning the Ghana Premier League but for varied reasons, they couldn’t annex a trophy that has been nosing in their trophy cabinet since its establishment.

Last week, they made a huge statement when they beat record holders of the league, Kotoko away from home, currently they sit at the summit on the table with a home tie against Ebusua Dwarfs.

The inclusions of Prince Opoku Agyemang, Ahmed Toure, Zakaria Mumuni have certainly paid dividends as the team is playing with renewed confidence, belief, and a massive pool of understanding to complement efforts in their quest to win the league.

The Mauve and Yellow side come up against Ebusua Dwarfs side who smashed another title eyeing side, Great Olympics for four at Cape Coast only a week past aiding them to 11th on the league log.

The away side have had a topsy-turvy campaign under coach Ernest Thompson Quartey spurred on by their home victory over Olympics they will be looking to cause a major scalp against Medeama in Tarkwa.

Medeama SC looks like the side to steal all three points but the Crabs may have something special under their claws to cause a major upset in this fixture at the Akoon Park.

MEDEAMA SC 2-0 EBUSUA DWARFS
