GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Aduana Stars vs Berekum Chelsea

Aduana Stars and Berekum Chelsea are up against each other in week twenty-three of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-2021 season.

The duo former Ghana Premier League winners have so far not lived up to their level best in the league recording some inconsistent performance, results, which have not aided their push for a top-six finish not to talk for fighting for the league title against other top sides in the league.

The Ogya boys are 10th on the log with 30 points, last week; they lost by painfully to another struggling side, Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park of which they have to make amends now that they play Berekum Chelsea.

The absence of inspirational leader, Yahaya Mohammed, who netted seven goals (7) will be greatly felt meaning, Bright Adjei, Benjamin Tweneboah, Bioh Samuel will have to combined efforts to bring back the smiles on the faces of the home faithful under the tutelage of Asare Bediako.

For Berekum Chelsea, to say their season has been worse will be an understatement but I’m sure the managerial changes, player exodus, absence of fans to cheer them on coupled with other factors might be contributory factors to their woeful season.

The Biribies have since picked only two points on the road, a feat needing ratification starting with the match against the Fire boys if they want to add up to their 27 points they have amassed in the league.

In the last five years, Aduana Stars have won six out of the 15 games the pair has played with Berekum Chelsea winning the other four and the other ending in pulsating draws.

Prediction: Aduana Stars 3-0 Berekum Chelsea

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Aduana Stars vs Elmina Sharks

On the back of suffering heavy drubbing at the hands of Bechem United a fortnight ago, Aduana Stars will be reeling over that heavy loss but a home fixture against Elmina Sharks should present them with a fine opportunity to soften their loss.

The two-time champions of the Ghana Premier League haven’t enjoyed the best of campaigns this season, as they currently occupy the tenth spot on the long, having accrued twenty-seven (27) points in the league.
Yahaya Mohammed (7), Benjamin Tweneboah (6) Bright Adjei (4) have combined efforts to score seventeen of the club’s overall twenty-two(22) goals in the league and with this fixture coming up, they will have to get their scoring boots on to fire their club on to victory.

Elmina Sharks have rather enjoyed a tumultuous campaign, unlike a season past where they were within a top-six finish.

Fast-forward to this season, they lie 11th on the log with 26 points, and with an infamous victory over WAFA; they will be brewing with immense confidence heading into the match against the Ogya boys.

This match promises to be an interesting fixture between the mid-table sides, Aduana holds the ace for this one having won two of the last four encounters against the away side.

Predictions: Aduana Stars 3-0 Elmina Sharks

Aduana Stars coach Asare Bediako stated his side lost the game against Hearts of Oak in the first forty-five minutes of the game after the players failed to heed his instructions.

Aduana Stars suffered a 2-0 defeat against Hearts of Oak at the nation’s capital on Sunday.

“We lost in the first half because they couldn’t do what I told them,” he said

“I told them to press and mark one-on-one but they didn’t do that in the first half but during the recess, I told them to stick to what I told them and we would eventually equalize. But as you can see, we played all the ball in the second half but the result was rather unfortunate” he added.

Aduana Stars currently sit in 9th position in the Ghana Premier League with 24 points after 18 games.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Karela United vs Aduana Stars

The Crosby Awuah Memorial Park will see Karela United welcome former premier league foes, Aduana Stars to their home venue in what promises to be a mouth-watering fixture in the ultimate round of games on Saturday, 6 March 2021.

The Nzema-Aiyinase based club are bitterly bruised from their 3-1 drubbing against WAFA, Sogakope a week past and will be looking to inflict a similar or worse scoreline when they play Aduana Stars.

Evans Adotey and his boys have been very impressive at home winning all ties bar their loss against Kotoko a fortnight ago.

The home team will be heavily reliant on Diawisie Taylor(10) and Kwame Boateng(7), the pair have been very instrumental to the success of the club banging in over half of the twenty-three goals the team have since scored.

Aduana Stars will be coming into this fixture with a new man in the dugout, Asare Bediako who takes over from Paa Kwesi Fabin whose contract was not renewed.

The former Hearts of Oak assistant coach will have Yahaya Mohammed (7), Bright Adjei (3) to count on in a difficult tie this weekend.

The away side will have to be properly psyched for this match considering the arrest of stalwart defender Farouk Adams who is alleged to have run over and killed a police officer.

The Ogya boys are 5th on the log with 24 points with a goal deficit to their name.

Prediction: Karela United 3-0 Aduana Stars

Asare Bediako in, Fabin out as Aduana make coaching changes

Dormaa based club, Aduana Stars have appointed Asare Bediako as their new head coach on a two-year deal.

This follows the expiration of their prior coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s mandate at the helm of affairs as the head of the technical team of the club.

The experienced coach resigned on the basis of the club failing to back him in the transfer market to properly compete for honors in the second round of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.

Asare Bediako takes over as the new man with the two-time champions of the league following his resignation from Accra Hearts of Oak as assistant coach some weeks ago citing personal reasons.

Before joining Hearts of Oak, Bediako was head coach of Berekum Chelsea in the 2019/2020 season where he recorded impressive wins against Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold which earned him a coach of the month award for January 2020.

He will lead the Ogya boys when his new side travel away to table-toppers Karela United this Saturday.

In other matches, Aduana Stars recovered from two consecutive losses to Dreams FC and AshGold to post a 2-1 victory over Inter Allies, who got a consolation through returnee Samuel Armah at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park II.

The Sogakope Red Bull Arena saw WAFA pick up all vital points against high-flying Karela United whiles Hearts of Oak also pick their second consecutive win in less than a week over fiercest city rivals Liberty Professionals at the Carl Reindolf park.
