GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Hearts of Oak vs King Faisal

Samuel Boadu’s Hearts of Oak are at it again and this time it’s against a struggling outfit, King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The pair comes into this fixture with varied motivation; the home side has since picked 7 points from a possible 15 points in the last five games of the league.

A week ago, they lost to Dreams FC at the Dawu Park, which affected their title ambitions. With that said, they have the opportunity to remedy it when they play King Faisal over the weekend in week 23 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2021 season.

King Faisal on the other hand, are still drooling in the relegation pool since the start of the league, it’s looking as though, they might return to the championship if they fail to switch up results back in their favor.

The club is under a huge financial debt, the sole financier of a team, Alhaji Grunsah has been unwilling to allow others to come on board to support the club financially having adverse effects on the side even though the Veep Alhaji Bawumia has in recent times aided the club with an ultra-modern bus.

On the field of play, they will have to play above their weights, having picked only 5 points away from home. The likes of Kwame Preprah, Frimpong Boateng have been the primary source of the club’s goals, as such; they will have to be in the strides to hit the back of the net.

The Biribies have since picked only two points on the road, a feat needing ratification starting with the match against the Fire boys if they want to add up to their 27 points they have amassed in the league.

Hearts of Oak have an edge over King Faisal in fifteen games they have played against each other, the home side has won 5, and the away side has won 3 with the others in draws.

Prediction: Hearts of Oak 3-0 King Faisal

Naby Keita strike late to give Kotoko win against King Faisal

Asante Kotoko bounced back from the disappointment against Elmina Sharks on Wednesday when they secured a 1-0 win against King Faisal in their outstanding game in the Ghana Premier League, thanks to a late goal from Naby Keita.

Johnson Smith will be relieved after his side registered their first win in four games.

Asante Kotoko started the game with a lot of energy but King Faisal matched them boot for boot in the first 45 minutes of the game. The home side came close to scoring after their free-kick struck the upright before going over.

Augustine Okrah and Habib Mohammed went out injured in the first half of the game and were replaced by Fabio Gama and Adom Frimpong.

Imoro Ibrahim came close to scoring in the early stages of the second half when his effort from the set-piece braced the upright and went over.

Naby Keita who came on for Patrick Asmah, was the hero of the day after beating a defender before slotting home the winner to give Kotoko all three points.

Asante Kotoko move to 4th position on the Ghana Premier League table after their win on Wednesday.

Accra Great Olympics brought King Faisal back to planet earth when they dispatched them by 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The pair came into this duel on the back of recording impressive wins in match week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The home side beat their fiercest rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium whiles King Faisal recovered from an early rush of goals to post a 4-3 victory over Berekum Chelsea at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

The home side started the early exchanges on the front foot and it was no surprise they got their noses in front through Charles Danso to end the first half on top.

After the recess, the home side were 2-0 up through Samuel Ashie-Quaye in the 55th minute before Kwadwo Frimpong pulled one back for the away side. .
It wasn’t until the 81st when the Dade boys restored their two-goal cushion courtesy of Michael Yeboah.

Great Olympics are up 2nd on the log with 21 points, whiles King Faisal are a position above the relegation zone. .

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Great Olympics vs King Faisal

Great Olympics are basking in glory fresh from beating their fiercest local rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend.

That mountain of a win moved them up to 3rd on the log, as they will look to continue that feat in a midweek clash against a resurgent King Faisal Babies, who themselves have their own magic tales to tell.

King Faisal have had a rather difficult campaign this season recording a series of losses and draws with only one win so far but their stalwart display against Berekum Chelsea after going down 3-0 in 18 minutes have had people applaud their efforts with hopes that they will live to expectations and not crumble under pressure when it matters the most against the Dade boys.

It’s no surprise that after their impressive comeback over the weekend at the Ohene Ameyaw Park, Coach Andy Sinason has encouraged supporters to rally behind them in yet another tricky encounter.

“I will plead with the supporters to exercise patience with us and continue supporting the team.”

King Faisal have been the dominant of the two sides in the last decade, winning four, Oly two, and the others ending in draws.

GPL Match Preview: Eleven Wonders vs King Faisal

It is match week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season featuring Eleven Wonders and King Faisal rub shoulders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park which they co-share.

The home side have struggled for consistency in the last few weeks despite their bright start to the league, Ignatius Osei Fosu head coach of the side has attributed this to teams doubling up in strength, tactics, and other variable factors when they play against them.

They have garnered 7 points at home out of 12 points, which means they have lost five points to other clubs that have been to their home venue, something which will not best please the tactical coach Iggie who has become such a cult hero to fans of his club and beyond.

King Faisal on the other hand seems to be writing the same storyline similar to last year, where they were battling relegation, so far, they lie 16th with 7 points from nine games in the ongoing campaign.

Kwame Frimpong and Preprah have been key to their survival hopes but this weekend will show the test of character against a side that is eager to get back to winning ways following their 2-0 loss to Accra Hearts of Oak a week past.

The odds are in favor of Eleven Wonders should decide to turn the screws on the Insha Allahu boys the 3 points will be theirs at the blast of the referee’s final whistle on Sunday.

GPL Match Report: Hearts record precious win over King Faisal

Hearts of Oak left it deep into injury time to steal all three points from the jaws of King Faisal at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

Both sides lost their prior games to AshGold and Aduana Stars, with that in mind, a win was the only result that would pacify either set of the fans.

Benjamin Afutu Kotey shot the away side into the lead on 15 minutes, either side threatened but Hearts held on to that slim margin to end the first half.

Kwame Frimpong five minutes post the second half resumption equalized for his side, in what was ending as a point each for either sides, Phobian prodigy Umar Manaf produced a moment of brilliance to hand the away side an all-important 2-1 win over the Insha Allahu boys.

The results sees Hearts of Oak move to 5th on the log momentarily awaiting other results on Sunday whiles King Faisal were condemned further into relegation marking their fourth loss in six games.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: King Faisal, Hearts battle for three points

Two Ghana Premier League clubs King Faisal Babies and Accra Hearts of Oak will engage each other with the idea of claiming all three points in week six of the ongoing league session on Monday.

Both sides come into this fixture after losing heavily to AshGold and Aduana Stars respectively in a rescheduled fixture that was played in midweek.

King Faisal have endured a rather difficult spell in the league, winning just one, losing as many as three games, and drawing just one in five rounds of games entering into the six against Hearts of Oak.

Coach Slaviša Bozicic’s side would have to wary of Hearts’ Kwame Obeng Junior, who has scored three goals in five games for his side so far.

The Phobians would be looking to put their defeat to Aduana Stars behind them when they play King Faisal at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

The home side occupy the 17th spot whiles Hearts sit 9th with 5 points.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Ashgold to slay King Faisal in rescheduled duel

AshGold come into this fixture with one of their fiercest rivals, King Faisal in a rescheduled match bound to take place at the Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium on December 16, 2020.

The home side picked their first of the season battering Elmina Sharks in a six-goals-thriller much to the delight of coach Serbian Milovan Cirkovic.

The home side are a team blessed with lots of attacking talent, it’s no surprise that they are one of two sides to score eight goals, two matches less than WAFA, who have played all five games of the ongoing league.

If there’s something King Faisal can capitalize on, it’s the fact that the home side are defensively deficient having allowed six goals past them in three games.

King Faisal have four (4) points from four (4) games so far in the league, averaging a point each in the games they have played.

Both clubs will have a real shot at the three (3) points, although Aboakese come into this clash as favorites for all three points.

They are a win ahead of Insha Allahu boys in fifteen (15) games with the other eight (8) ending in pulsating draws.

Predictions: AshGold 3 – 1 KingFaisal
