The Black Queens of Ghana have arrived in Nairobi for the second leg of their crucial Tokyo 2020 qualifier. 

Ghana arrived in Kenya in the early hours of Monday morning ahead of the game on Tuesday.

The female national team will go into the game with the objective of winning to qualify for the Olympics next year.

Having drawn goalless in Accra in the first leg, coach Mercy Quarcoo-Tagoe is confident of qualifying for next years competition.

Ghana Black Queens were held to a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday afternoon in the Tokyo 2020 qualification game.

Ghana Black Queens did all they could to get a win at home but failed to achieve their goal.

Kenya will be happy with the draw as unlucky Ghana struck the bar twice in the game.

Ghana U23 team aka Black Meteors have qualified for the Africa U23 Championship after beating Algeria 1-0 away from home, thanks to Yaw Yeboah’s solo goal.

The Black Meteors have secured their ticket to the U23 Africa Championship that will take place in Egypt this November after beating Algeria 2-1 on aggregate.

Ghana will join Egypt (Host), Zambia, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Mali in the list of qualified teams for the U23 AFCON that will take place in November. Top three teams will qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe has named her 18 players for the upcoming international assignment against Gabon. 

The former Black Queens player named a team without two of her key players Abdulai Mukarama and Princella Adubea for the game against Gabon on Wednesday.

The qualifier is for the 2020 Olympic game in Tokyo.
