GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Hearts of Oak vs WAFA SC

Hearts of Oak are it again and this time it’s against WAFA in the ultimate round of games in the Ghana Premier League 2021-21 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Since the departure of Kosta Papic, the home side has enjoyed a new lease form under interim coach, Samuel Nii Noi, who masterminded their impressive showings in the last three matches, picking seven from a possible nine points in three matches.

The top hierarchy of Hearts under the able leadership of Tobe Afede XIV has appointed Samuel Boadu tasked with the mandate of helping the capital-based club reclaim its glory days.

The home side has been very dominant on their home turf amassing 15 points aiding them to 7th on the log with 24 points.

The likes of Victor Aidoo (6), K.Obeng Junior (4), and Umar Manaf (3) have been firing but they need to up their game under the new coach, Samuel Boadu.

Prosper Narteh’s WAFA are bad travelers in the league, they have picked 4 points in as many games. Lawrence Agyekum, Augustine Boakye, Dwamena Michael Kyei will have to give off their best considering their bad run of form in the ongoing league.

PREDICTION: HEARTS OF OAK  2-0 WAFA

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: WAFA vs Ashantigold

The Sogakope Red Bull Arena will see WAFA play host to AshantiGold, who are keenly eyeing to win the league for the first time in so many years.

The home-based setup have not fared particularly well on the road this season, their only win came against Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

Having lost to Dreams and Aduana Stars, former player of the side Samuel Tetteh, who played with the side some two seasons alluded their poor run of results on the road to bad pitches across the various league centres and bad officiating.

The absence of three first-team players Daniel Lomotey, Daniel Owusu Forson Amankwah to foreign clubs will certainly disrupt the rhythm, tactics, and selection of Prosper Narteh but hopefully, he has the resources at his disposal to choose from heading into a tricky fixture against the Aboakese side.

Ashgold lost their home fixture to Liberty Professionals by 1-0 at home and that should spur them on to get better results as they travel to Sogakope.

The likes of Appiah McCarthy, Hans Kwoffie, and others may have to bring their Agame to bare if they are to get anything out of this tight contest.

Predictin: WAFA 4-0 AshGold

We did what we were told – Lawrence Agyekum on big Liberty win

WAFA SC made light work of Premier League foes Liberty Professionals when the pair clashed at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena in week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.

The home side were coming into this fixture on the back off drawing 1-1 to Ebusua Dwarfs whiles the away side had lost the last three competitive matches in the league (Kotoko, Ebusua Dwarfs, and Dreams FC) with a fourth consecutive loss on the cards the onus laid on their doorsteps to give a good account of themselves.

In the end, WAFA run riot posting a 5-0 win over the Dansoman based club, according to Lawrence Agyekum, who featured prominently in the annihilation of their opponents attributed the win to heed to the instructions of head coach Prosper Narteh, who delivered a masterpiece to silence the other setup.

“We did what we were told to do by our coaches and it yielded good results. We were very prepared for the victory today and by God’s grace, we won.

The midfield was however optimistic about recording more of such results in the coming weeks.

It’s not the end though, we are still focused on getting results of this magnitude in the rest of the games and hopefully, we will get them.” an ecstatic Agyekum.

The highly-rated diminutive midfield gem, Lawrence Agyekum, has since featured in 5 games for WAFA SC in the ongoing league.

We are prepared for Liberty – WAFA’s Lawrence Agyekum

The Sogakope Red Bull Arena will witness two clubs with a penchant for grooming young talents grill each other hard and well enough for all 3 maximum points in week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The duo clubs have not fared relatively too well, recording contrasting fortunes, the home side are winless in 3 games, a feat they will need to remedy at all cost when they clashed with Dansoman based club.

According to Lawrence Agyekum, who has become a mainstay in Prosper Narteh ‘s side since returning from injury and anchoring the midfield for WAFA has rallied his teammates to do everything for the 3 points as preparations are far advanced.

“We are very well prepared against the Liberty, it’s our home and we definitely have to win.

We haven’t won in our last 3 games so we can’t afford to lose or draw against the Liberty Professionals.

I know they’re much prepared as we are but in the end, we will take the 3 points”

Prosper Narteh has so far pushed his to pick 15 points from 10 matches aiding them to 8th on the log, a win will push them into the top 6 ranks.

Liberty as well are winless in 3 matches (Kotoko, Ebusua Dwarfs, and Dreams) another defeat to WAFA might spell doom for them, as lie 14th with 8 points, they have only managed 2 points in their away conquest.

Both sides have won 4 each of the last 12 fixtures with the other ending in a draw.

WAFA welcomes Liberty Professionals to the Sogakope Red Bull Arena in week 11 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The duo clubs are competing to complement their status in the league. So far both have recorded contrasting fortunes, the home side are winless in three games, a run they will be looking to change, when they face off with the Dansoman based club.

As things stand now, they have picked 15 points from 10 matches sitting 8th on the log, a win will do them bags of good with the league getting keener as the weeks stretch on.

David Ocloo needs to pump in some action to revitalize his setup, who are winless in 3 matches (Kotoko, Ebusua Dwarfs, and Dreams) another defeat to WAFA might spell doom for them, as they lie 14th with 8 points, they have only managed 2 points in their away conquest.

Both sides have won 4 each of the last 12 fixtures with the others ending in a draw..

GPL Match Preview: Ebusua Dwarfs vs WAFA SC

In less than three days, Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs will feature prominently again in week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

This midweek saw them honor their outstanding duel against record holders of the Ghana Premier League Kumasi Asante Kotoko, which they lost by 1-0 courtesy Christopher Nettey, one would have thought that their infamous victory over Liberty Professionals over the weekend will do them a world of good heading into that clash but it wasn’t to be as they lost in their own backyard.

This weekend, they face off with, WAFA another team gunning to do well in the league under the current manager, Prosper Narteh, who knows the opposition under Coach Thompson Quartey at best considering their history some years ago in Cape Coast.

WAFA are occupying the 6th position on the log having failed to take all 3 points off Kotoko, when the pair locked horns at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena a week ago, the away side’s only win on the road came off at Ohene Ameyaw park to Eleven Wonders.

The away side have lost a goal machine in Daniel Lomotey only a week ago to Tunisian club AS Soliman, Augustine Boakye will be expected to lead the lines this weekend, it’s only a matter of time to prove if he will be equal to the task.

WAFA have been victorious in eight matches they have met the Crabs in the Ghana Premier League.

It remains to be seen if they will continue their dominance on the home team or the former will break that streak at least this weekend.

We lacked focus – Lawrence Agyekum on Kotoko draw

The Sogakope Red Bull Arena witnessed one of the weekend’s exciting fixtures between WAFA and the record holders of the Ghana Premier League, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a contest that would eventually see both sets of clubs share the spoils at the end of match proceedings.

The home side got their noses in front through the deadly inform forward Daniel Lomotey in the 10th minute before Kotoko equalized through Kwame Poku in the second half to see the game end 1-1.

However, one of WAFA’s promising midfield chap, Lawrence Agyekum attributed his side’s inability to finish off Kotoko was due to lack of focus.

“It was a great game. We had dominance in the first half which led us to a goal, but unfortunately for us during the second half, we kind off lost focus immediately after the first half break and the Kotoko team got the opportunity to equalize.

We tried so many efforts scoring another goal which was denied by the away side. ” he told Saharafootball.net

The home side dominated the full throttle of the first half, beautifully stringing multiple passes across the length and breadth of the pitch, holding up possession to the admiration of fans present but all come to null when they were unable to preserve that solitary lead which was equalized.

Meanwhile, Agyekum is confident about their chances as they travel away to Ebusua Dwarfs over the weekend in what promises to be an interesting fixture in week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

GPL Match Preview: WAFA SC vs Asante Kotoko

Fourth-placed WAFA will look to impress on their home and overall standings in the league when they take on record holders of the Ghana Premier League Kumasi Asante Kotoko at their favorite Sogakope Red Bull Arena on Sunday.

The Sogakope-based side have been very dominant on their home turf picking a total of ten out of twelve points in the ongoing league something that will please Coach Prosper Narteh who will be looking to get one over Kotoko when they come to town this weekend.

The home side have triumphed over the Porcupine Warriors four out of ten outings whiles the reds will be looking to ensure that they better their place on the league log from the 6th position to break into the top four slowly under the tutelage of interim manager Johnson Smith=h.

The porcupine warriors should be wary of Daniel Lomotey, who has since scored seven from eight goals an impressive stat to say the least.

The Kumasi ‘Galacticos’ are good away travelers, one of three teams to pick five points on the road, something they will look to build on to complement their status in the league.

Coach Johnson Smith will be heavily dependent on Brazilian import Fabio Gama, who churned out a fantastic performance against Liberty a fortnight ago to the delight of the clubs teeming fans and the energetic Kwame Poku, who was hit four in seven games.
