Aduana Stars coach Joseph Asare Bediako acknowledged and praised two key Kotoko players after the goalless draw at the CAM Park on Saturday in the Matchweek 27 of the Premier League.

Asare Bediako revealed the result was fair since the play was ’50-50′ on Saturday. He also revealed that his team mapped out certain strategies to beat Kotoko; one of them was man-marking their best players.

“We mapped out some strategies which if you don’t know football, you will say they are dominating but we were just looking out for some individual players”

“Mudasiru and Gama, you know they were perfect players and we mapped out some strategy to break them down and stop them from coming” he added.

Asante Kotoko are yet to beat Aduana Stars at the CAM Park in the club’s history.

Breaking: Asante Kotoko to withdraw from MTN FA cup

Asante Kotoko are reportedly considering withdrawing from the MTN FA Cup due to player injuries, Sahara Football understands.

The Kumasi-based club will pull out of the competition as they want to focus on the Ghana Premier League and to reduce the injury situation at the club.

Asante Kotoko currently have more than five inured/unfit players including the new signings the club made in the second transfer window.

The club’s withdrawal could be a huge blow to the sponsors as they were hoping to see the nine times FA Cup winners in the competition this season.

OFFICIAL: Asante Kotoko appoint Mariano Barreto as Head Coach

After weeks of intense speculations Ghana Premier League club Asante Kotoko, have named former Blackstars coach Mariano Barreto as their new head coach.

https://twitter.com/asantekotoko_sc/status/1375380940286009347?s=21

The 64-year old Portuguese takes over from Abdul Gazelle and Johnson Smith, who were served in interim capacities following the sacking of club legend and coach Maxwell Konadu far back in December 2020.

Hopefully, Barreto’s confirmation as the new head coach will settle nerves within the Porcupine fraternity amidst lots of tension between the fans and the board on where the club was heading technically.

Naby Keita strike late to give Kotoko win against King Faisal

Asante Kotoko bounced back from the disappointment against Elmina Sharks on Wednesday when they secured a 1-0 win against King Faisal in their outstanding game in the Ghana Premier League, thanks to a late goal from Naby Keita.

Johnson Smith will be relieved after his side registered their first win in four games.

Asante Kotoko started the game with a lot of energy but King Faisal matched them boot for boot in the first 45 minutes of the game. The home side came close to scoring after their free-kick struck the upright before going over.

Augustine Okrah and Habib Mohammed went out injured in the first half of the game and were replaced by Fabio Gama and Adom Frimpong.

Imoro Ibrahim came close to scoring in the early stages of the second half when his effort from the set-piece braced the upright and went over.

Naby Keita who came on for Patrick Asmah, was the hero of the day after beating a defender before slotting home the winner to give Kotoko all three points.

Asante Kotoko move to 4th position on the Ghana Premier League table after their win on Wednesday.
