The game between Ebusua Dwarfs and Legon Cities in Cape Coast was abandoned on Sunday afternoon after the match officials refused to return to the pitch for the second half.

Legon Cities official Twitter handle tweeted and stated that the referee’s failure to report to the pitch in the second half was due to threats he received from the home fans as the referee didn’t “feel safe to continue”.

After the tweet, the home side Ebusua Dwarfs used their Twitter handle to deny news that fans threatened the officials during the game in Cape Coast.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Medeama vs Ebusua Dwarfs

In the last three seasons, Medeama SC have come close to winning the Ghana Premier League but for varied reasons, they couldn’t annex a trophy that has been nosing in their trophy cabinet since its establishment.

Last week, they made a huge statement when they beat record holders of the league, Kotoko away from home, currently they sit at the summit on the table with a home tie against Ebusua Dwarfs.

The inclusions of Prince Opoku Agyemang, Ahmed Toure, Zakaria Mumuni have certainly paid dividends as the team is playing with renewed confidence, belief, and a massive pool of understanding to complement efforts in their quest to win the league.

The Mauve and Yellow side come up against Ebusua Dwarfs side who smashed another title eyeing side, Great Olympics for four at Cape Coast only a week past aiding them to 11th on the league log.

The away side have had a topsy-turvy campaign under coach Ernest Thompson Quartey spurred on by their home victory over Olympics they will be looking to cause a major scalp against Medeama in Tarkwa.

Medeama SC looks like the side to steal all three points but the Crabs may have something special under their claws to cause a major upset in this fixture at the Akoon Park.

Ebusua Dwarfs held by Eleven Wonders in Cape Coast

Ebusua Dwarfs were held by resilient Eleven Wonders at the Cape Coast Stadium on Friday in the Matchday 19 of the Ghana Premier League.

Eleven Wonders are slowly moving away from the relegation zone after registering a point against Ebusua Dwarfs.

The game kicked off in an electrifying manner as Ebusua Dwarfs took the lead in the 13th minute after Michael Asamoah’s powerful effort went past Ibrahim, but Eleven Wonders pegged them back immediately through Clement Boahen who beat the offside line to restore parity.

The tempo of the game slowed down after the equalizer as both teams struggle to take the lead.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw as Ebusua Dwarfs move up to 9th in the League table while Eleven Wonders sit on the 14th position.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Ebusua Dwarfs vs Karela United

Ebusua Dwarfs welcome a bruised Karela United to the Cape Coast on Sunday in week fourteen of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The home side have somewhat enjoyed a jolly ride under the able leadership of Ernest Thompson Quartey, who has impressively masterminded his side’s ability to go five matches unbeaten, as well as back-to-back, wins the very first in the league.

If there’s something the home side haven’t been particularly good at it’s turning draws into wins at their home venue, so far, they have won two out of six duels in their own backyard.

Karela United are coming into this fixture after falling at home to the current leaders, Asante Kotoko SC by 2-0 as well as an end to their over fifty games unbeaten home run at CAM park.

The Pride and Passion lads are bad travelers in the league, in over six games on the road, they have only picked four points contrary to their 18 points they have amassed at home.

Coach Evans Adotey and his boys may have suffered a blip to their title ambitions but that should spur them on for more victories.

Diawusie Taylor and Frank Boateng have been at their lethal best scoring combined goals of fifteen, hopefully, they should be able to come to the party at Cape Coast over the weekend.

Prediction: Ebusua Dwarfs 1-1 Karela United

Ghana Premier League club Inter Allies is feeling the full effects of the league, as they are unable to turn draws into wins or even win any to pacify their teeming fans, who are getting worried week after week.

It’s match week 13 of the league, and they come up against a spirited Ebusua Dwarfs, whose tales I will touch on briefly.

The Eleven is to One boys are winless after five games occupying the 18th spot on the league table with seven points after 12 matches played this season.

More News: GFA announce Modalities for Hearts of Oak – Legon Cities clash

There are several reasons leading to why the Capelli boys are in this dire state, the departures of Nigerien import, Victorian Adebayor to sister club, HB Koge,as well Tonny Lokko and Henrikh Lehm without proper replacement.

The arrival of Kwabena Kyeremanteng and Samuel Armah should at least provide some needed respite for the Accra based club in the coming weeks.

Ernest Thompson Quartey’s outfit are beaming with confidence after posting a 2-1 victory over title hopeful, Ashgold at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium aiding them  to 12th on the log with 16 points.

Dwarfs are unbeaten in their last three matches, their most recent victory in the capital came against struggling Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium.

This match is up for the taking for any of the two sides, the likes of Julius Akoto, Martey Simon, Acquah Benjamin should provide the needed boast for the Crabs to get the over the finish line.

The Ghana Premier League is slowly taking shape and form, the men have been separated from the boys and clearly, some clubs are feeling the full effects of the harsh realities of life in the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.

It’s match week 13 of the league, and Inter Allies would be at home to Ebusua Dwarfs, who are not new to the Accra Sports Stadium terrain having played Legon Cities earlier in the season.

The Crabs spearheaded by the energetic Ernest Thompson Quartey are beaming with confidence after posting a 2-1 victory over title hopeful, Ashgold at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium aiding them to 12th on the log with 16 points.

According to the talented Julius Akoto, he envisages that his side would deepen the woes of the Capelli boys winless in five games in the current campaign.

More News: Kwabena Kyeremateng and Samuel Armah return to Inter Allies

“We are fired up for this clash, our last match we picked the 3 points against Legon Cities here and we want to do so against Inter Allies, you can see they are struggling but it’s all part of the game.

“Coach and the technical team have explained what they expect from us, hopefully, everything goes according to plan,” he told Saharafootball.net

GPL Match Preview: Ebusua Dwarfs vs WAFA SC

In less than three days, Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs will feature prominently again in week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

This midweek saw them honor their outstanding duel against record holders of the Ghana Premier League Kumasi Asante Kotoko, which they lost by 1-0 courtesy Christopher Nettey, one would have thought that their infamous victory over Liberty Professionals over the weekend will do them a world of good heading into that clash but it wasn’t to be as they lost in their own backyard.

This weekend, they face off with, WAFA another team gunning to do well in the league under the current manager, Prosper Narteh, who knows the opposition under Coach Thompson Quartey at best considering their history some years ago in Cape Coast.

WAFA are occupying the 6th position on the log having failed to take all 3 points off Kotoko, when the pair locked horns at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena a week ago, the away side’s only win on the road came off at Ohene Ameyaw park to Eleven Wonders.

The away side have lost a goal machine in Daniel Lomotey only a week ago to Tunisian club AS Soliman, Augustine Boakye will be expected to lead the lines this weekend, it’s only a matter of time to prove if he will be equal to the task.

WAFA have been victorious in eight matches they have met the Crabs in the Ghana Premier League.

It remains to be seen if they will continue their dominance on the home team or the former will break that streak at least this weekend.

Our defending was poor but Dwarfs were determined – David Ocloo

Liberty Professional head coach David Ocloo slammed his side’s defensive organization as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss to Ebusua Dwarfs in their own backyard, Carl Reindolf park.

The home side head coach was far from pleased, as he lamented about his side’s inability to hold on to an early lead surrendering to a 2-1 loss at home.

The Dansoman based club shot into the lead through an Abraham Wayo penalty but were pegged back with goals from Michael Ohene Asamoah and Musah Sumaila.

However in a presser, after the match ended, David Ocloo heaped praise on the opposite setup saying that their determination paid off hence the victory on the day.

“The determined side won the day. They were more determined than us.”

Our defending was very poor today we will go back and see how best to shape our setup heading into the next game of the league”.

He however entreated the clubs teeming fans, who trooped into the stadium for the first time following the president’s directive for fans to support their clubs under carefully laid down protocols to have the patience for his young side who have lots to learn in the game.

“They should take heart, football is three things, win, lose, draw, they should just give them time, this is a young team, they would rise up and come good in the next game” an optimistic David Ocloo.

Liberty are up against Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu in week ten of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
