The Chief Executive officer George Amoako of Asante Kotoko has revealed that the club might lose three good players, and that’s why a lot of signings have been made.

George Amoako stated that four players are likely to leave the club following the arrival of new signings.

“We are losing the services of key players like Fatawu, Yacouba, Kwame Bonsu and Daniel Darkwah. It’s likely all of them might go. We have to plan to replace them. That is why so many names are being bundled around”, George Amoako told Oyerepa FM.

We must take responsibilities and improve – Kwame Bonsu

Asante Kotoko midfielder Kwame Bonsu has stated that the players must improve after managing two points out of a possible nine in the Special Competition.

The porcupines have failed to win any of their last three games, they suffered defeat on Sunday when they traveled to Obuasi to face Ashantigold.

CK Akonnor accused his players of not stepping up when it matters and questions the desire of players that complained about not getting playing time during their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Kwame Bonsu agrees with his coach as he insists that the players shouldn’t give up.

“Individually, we have to take responsibility and collectively, we have to be there to help each other, and fight to the end,” stresses Kwame Bonsu.

“We don’t have to give up. We are in tough moments, but that is part of the game. We have to stay focused so we don’t lose our heads.”

With four points adrift the top, any further slips could hamper Kotoko’s hope of securing one of the two qualification tickets of the Zone.

“We have to be tough and determined to get these points because they are very important to us. We can’t afford to be losing games. The expectations are very high so must put the past results behind to avoid losing our focus.”

Asante Kotoko will host Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday as they will look to go back to winning ways.

Asante Kotoko medical team has confirmed that Kwame Bonsu could return for Kotoko’s Special Competition clash at Medeama on Thursday afternoon, but the Porcupines will still be without two players.

In an exclusive interview on Tuesday, Head of the Kotoko Medical Team, Dr. Twumasi Baah, said Bonsu could make the trip to Tarkwa after leaving the previous fixture against Aduana Stars as a result of an injury close to his mouth.

“Bonsu had a cut just beneath his mouth which was stitched and dressed after the match,” revealed Dr. Baah. “He was given medication and is available for selection for the Medeama game if coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor desires for his services.”

Dr. Baah also gave an update on Dany Teguy and Wahab Adams, adding: “Both Teguy and Wahab are not available currently and so can neither make the trip nor partake in the game.”
