Hamza Issah’s solitary strike was the difference between Hearts of Oak and Samartex at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Hearts of Oak edged Samartex by a goal to nil at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

 



Mawuli Wayo’s intelligent press sparked the move, winning possession and setting up Issah for a simple finish in the sixth minute of the game, 1-0.

Samartex threatened to equalize, but Solomon Agbasi’s goalkeeping heroics kept the home team’s lead intact.

Despite dominating possession, Didi Dramani’s side struggled to extend their lead, with George Paaku and Theophilus Collison missing a host of chances.

The visiting team applied a late surge for an  equalizer but the Kelvin Osei-Asibey’s marshalled his defensive unit to repel the constant wave of attack.

The win lifts, Hearts of Oak to 5th as they travel away to Tarkwa to face Medeama SC while Samartex, 7th on the log will face Young Apostles  in game week seventeen of at the Nsenkyire Arena.

Emmanuel Annor’s first half strike for Nation FC was enough to beat Young Apostles.

 



The home team have endured a torrid campiagn so far in the league a big contrast to how they were inches away from clinching 2024/2025 Ghana Premier League.

Nations FC star boy, Emmanuel took the mantle up to expertedly convert from 12 yards for the opening goal of teh game.

Kotoko bagged a win over  Dreams FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

 



Kwame Opoku proved the difference between the two teams.

The first half ended goalless with Dreams FC coach Wilfred Dormon pained by his team’s profligacy. 

The game sprang to life as second half substitute Kwame Opoku’s miscued shot found the back of the net in the 81st minute of the game.

Hamza Issah’s lone goal proved the difference between Hearts of Oak and Vision Fc at the University of Ghana Sports Stdaium. 

 



The home team lost their away duel to Karela United a fort night ago and needed to make amends against the Kumasi based side. 

Hearts of Oak have been rocked with player salary arrears in the last few weeks which has since taken a toll on the playing body with some (Hamza Issah) and his agent looking for loop to terminate their clients contracct with the Accra based side.

That aside, Didi Dramani fielded a strong starting eleven against Nations FC.

The first half failed to produce any goals with the Phobians controlling and dominating a large chunk of the possesion.

George Paaku’s execellently executed freekick found the head of Hamza Issah who didnt miss from five yards in the Nations FC box rendering goalkepper, Rabin Sanon helpless.

The victory sees Hearts of Oak joint third with Kotoko on  24 points.

They play Aduana FC in the next league fixture.

Karela United picked a vital home win at the expense of Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on Sunday.

 



A brace from Eric Antwi Konadu saw the host beat the former Ghana Premier League champions.

Eric Antwi Konadu was at the end of a perfectedly floated cross from Fateh Mohammed  to beat goalkepper Solomon Agbasi in post for Hearts of Oak.

He profited from a mistake from Solomon Agbasi which allowed him on goal to score his second of the game.

Hohoe United beat Kotoko at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday. 

 



The home team produced an all round impressive performance at home to beat the biggest club in Ghana football, Kotoko.

On the back of beating Bechem United away from home, Coach Tijani deployed an attacking setup capable of neutralizing a Kotoko setup battling with injuries.

The home team started the first half on the front foot as they were duly rewarded with their incesssant wave of attcaks.

William Oduro’s stunning freekick flew past the helpless Guinea goalkeeper Mohammed Camara in post for the away side for the opneing goal.

The first half ended a goal advnatage to the home side.

Coach Karim Zito’s half time talk engineeered a spirit of revival from his boys who came from the break with the objective of getting a point or more from the game.

The Porcupine Warriors threatened the defense of the home team on several counts but failed to find an equalizer.

The defeat marks Kotoko’s second defeat of the season and leaves them on fifth, five points off the top, ahead of their clash against Dreams FC.

As if that was not enough, their increased their tally by a second goal through Yussif Mubarik from the penalty spot in the 18th minute.

The first half ended 2-0 in favour of the visiting Mauve and Yellow side.

Peter Amidu Acquah sparked the wave of a comeback in the 69th minute as he reacted quicly to shoot past goalkepper, Felix Kyei in post for the ttravelling team.  inside the box to power the ball into the net and give his side belief.

The Porcupine Warriors attacked consistently for the equalizer and were duly rewarded at the dearth of the game as Captain Samba O’Neil rose above everyone to head home the equaliser.

The two teams were tied in possesion, 50 each. The home team with Kotoko 20 shots, 7 on target to the away side’s 7 and five on target scoring two from the process showing the clinicals in front of goal.

The home team have found wins hard to come by after a stretch of three winless games.

Phobia’s last win was against Holy Stars away from home whiles they last home win came in game week three against Eleven Wonders.

Hearts of Oak determined to stamp their authority in the game showcased a lot of attacking intent in the game.
