Accra Hearts of Oak have mutually ended terms with five players after a club meeting on Friday.




The Ghanaian heavyweights decided not to extend the contract of Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Aboubacar Traore, Bernard Arthur and Joseph Esso.

Hearts of Oak refused to renew the contracts of Bonney, Arthur, Traore and Agyare, but Joseph Esso decided not to sign a new contract after the club refused to meet his GHC150,000 signing fee demands, the club is instead offering GHC 90,000.

The five players are now free agents and will be looking for a new club before the season resumes.

Joseph Esso registered three goals in fourteen appearances for the Phobians.

Hearts of Oak defender Christopher Bonney has revealed that he will be joining Inter Allies on loan when the Ghana Premier League resumes.




The right-back has decided to join Inter Allies to get playing time as he is clearly not in the immediate plans of current Hearts of Oak coach Nii Odoom.

“I think if the league resumes, i will leave hearts of oak for inter Allies on loan,” Bonney told Green FM.

“Inter Allies wrote to Hearts of Oak that they need me, and I dont think it’s bad move, I am also ready to join them.”

Bonney joined Hearts of Oak in 2018 on a free transfer after leaving Ebusua Dwarfs.

Hearts of Oak defender Christopher Bonney dropped from Ghana U23 team, See why

The former Ghana U20 right-back has been sent home by the technical team of the Ghana U23 team for using a fake birth certificate.



Hearts of Oak defender Christopher Bonney has been dropped from the Black Meteors squad preparing ahead of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria.
Bonney was sent home after being caught of fogging his birth certificate to earn a call-up to the team led by Coach Ibrahim Tanko.
According to Transfermarkt, his age is 27 with 22nd July 1992 as his date of birth as others claim 22 July 1995 was his date of birth used during days at Asante Kotoko, Unistar Academy, and Ebusua Dwarfs.
After an in-depth investigation by the technical team of the Ghana U23 side indicated that Bonney forged his current date of birth 22nd November 1998.
Ghana will host the Algeria U23 in the first leg tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.
