Former Ashantigold gaffer Svetislav Tanasijevic has called on Asante Kotoko to show ‘fake’ Kjetil Zachariassen the exit following reports of him faking documents to secure the top job. 

Kjetil Zachariassen has come under intense scrutiny after new broke he applied for the Kotoko job with fake certificates.

The ex-Ashantigold coach has also seen his work criticized following the Porcupine Warriors exit from the CAF Champions League.

However, his former work pal at the Miners Svetislav Tanasijevic has described the Norwegian tactician as fraud and Asante Kotoko must sack him.

“That man is a very selfish man, he works in a very bad manner, he collected money from his players that’s why all the clubs he has coached had sacked him within 5 to 7months, he is a fake man,” he told Kumasi based Silva FM.

“Yacouba with one leg should play, sack Zach because he doesn’t know how to win an away game. If Kotoko wins at home it’s no problem because they have their supporters around; allow Karela coach (Johnson Smith) to sit at the bench as a head coach against San Pedro or else it’s very dangerous for Kotoko to pass this test.

“Johnson Smith is 100% better than Zacharia, he’s a better man, he’s a better person of Zacharia and also a better coach, he has seen more things in the game, he knows how to win an away games.”

Ashantigold are set to announce Norwegian trainer Kjetil Zachariassen as the new head coach of the club following the recent demotion of Svetislav Tanasijevic to the youth team.

Management of Ashantigold demoted Svetislav to the Youth team after a series of impressive results and performance from the first team.

Zachariassen is a UEFA Pro License coach with experience on the continent after coaching Ivorian sides AS Tanda and WAC of Abidjan.

“I am surprised at the decision taken. You go to training without knowing anything. It is not a correct thing,” Tanasijević told Oyerepa FM.



“I am disappointed [about the demotion] but I have started training with the youth side. I love young teams because I love to build the youth,”

“My contract [is ending] soon. I have one month more. I will see what to do next in the next three days. I will try and know what the best thing for me to do,” he added.

Ashantigold are aiming for the top spot in the Special Competition organized by the Ghana Football Association Normalization Committee.

Ashantigold coach Svetislav Tanasijevic revealed that their target is playing in African competitions, he added that his team are not afraid and are prepared for the task ahead.

The Serbian revealed while talking to a local radio that the club has no plans of selling the players to Kotoko, claiming that he has a strong and better squad and it isn’t surprising to see interests from Kotoko.

The coach also revealed he has had talks with his boss to tell him how important the players are to the team especially with the Special Competition around the corner.

“I’m surprised Kotoko didn’t ask for eleven players, no player will leave Ashgold. Kotoko want Shafiu, James and Djodi, it is an impossible mission” the Serbian said.

“Ashantigold is now in a better situation and is a better club that’s why they want our players. I talked to my boss and told him what I think, these three players are going nowhere.”
