Ashantigold registered a 1-0 win in a friendly game against Burkinabe side Rahimo FC on Wednesday at the Lem Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

In preparation for their CAF Confederation Cup campaign, Ashantigold engaged Rahimo FC in a friendly game to maintain fitness.

Mark Agyekum’s 32nd-minute header was the only thing that separated both teams in the game.

Rahimo FC will be heading back to Burkina Faso after engaging in two friendly games against Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold.

Rahimo FC flew into the country a few days ago to play against Asante Kotoko, the friendly game took place on the 21st of July and The Porcupines came out 2-1 winners.

Ashantigold also proposed a friendly game with the side and they accepted. The game will come off on the 24th July at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Ashantigold will be looking to gain fitness and momentum ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Asante Kotoko were victorious in their first pre-season friendly game against Burkinabe side Rahimo FC on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, the game ended 2-1.

Asante Kotoko found themselves behind in the 35th minute of the first half after Rahimo FC took the lead after a fine finish.

The Porcupines fought back in the second half to get back into the game. Substitute Martin Antwi equalized for his team in the 70th minute after heading in Augustine Sefah’s cross.

Kotoko controlled the game and searched for the winner and finally got it in the 90th minute through new signing Kelvin Andoh who converted another cross from Augustine Sefah to give the Porcupines a win.

New coach Kjetil Zachariassen will be delighted with his team performance as they continue preparing for the upcoming campaign.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will play Kano Pillars of Nigeria in the preliminary stages of the CAF Champions League.

Asante Kotoko announced that Juliet Appiah will officiate the friendly game and she will be assisted by Emmanuel Dolagbenu, Alice Chukure and Abdul Latif Quadir.

Juliet Appiah was the only Ghanaian referee at the African Women’s Nations Cup.

Asante Kotoko announced on Thursday morning that the club will engage in their first pre-season game against Burkinabe club Rahimo FC on Sunday, 3 pm at the Baba Yara stadium.
