Asante Kotoko bow out of the CAF Confederation after losing 2-1 on aggregate against ES Setif. ES setif won 2-1 in Accra but both teams settled for a goalless draw in Algeria.

Asante Kotoko will travel back to focus on the Ghana Premier League, ES Setif will be looking forward to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

ES Setif came from behind to secure a 1-2 win against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday. The Porcupines face a huge test as they will have to travel to Algeria for a difficult task.

Asante Kotoko opened the scoring through Kwame Opoku but the visitors equalized a few minutes later via Mohamed Amoura who scored with a great header.

Ahmed Kendouci scored what turned out to be a winner when ES Setif hit Kotoko on the counter.

Asante Kotoko was awarded a penalty in the 86th minute but Naby Keita’s effort was saved.

Algerian side ES Setif arrived in Ghana on Friday evening to begin preparations for their CAF Confederation Cup clash against Asante Kotoko. The game is scheduled for Sunday 14th February at the Accra Sports Stadium.



The two times Champions of Africa conducted their mandatory coronavirus test which came back all negative, and have proceeded to their hotel to begin preparations for the Clash.

West African Football Academy (WAFA) have announced the transfer of goal machine Daniel Agbloe Lomotey from the club to Algerian side ES Setif on a permanent deal.

Daniel Lomotey left the shores of Ghana after WAFA’s 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko a few weeks ago to complete the move. He leaves the Ghana Premier League with 8 goals to his name in the 2020/2021 season.
