Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team, the Black Damsels rounded off their campaign by defeating Uganda 2-1 to win the 2025 African Schools Football Championship.



The Black Damsels secured their finals in the finals after beating defending champions, South Africa in a five-goal thriller.

They made it five straight wins as they edged out Uganda in the finals.
The first failed to produce any goal between the two teams but the second did shy supporters of any goals.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

Belinda Kpentey and Daniella Abass scored the goals in the second half to give the Ghanaian side the bragging rights of hosting the competition and winning it.

They picked gold and d cash of $300,00 as competition winners securing gold.

Ghana’s U-15 girls’ team, the Black Damsels secured gold at the expense of Uganda at the just-ended 2025 African Schools Football Championship.



The final game came off at the University of Ghana Stadium with large groups of supporters coming through to cheer the girls on.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

 

The road to victory was smooth sailing for the girls as they easily dispatched Morocco, Benin, and Malawi in the group stage before squaring it off against defending champions, South Africa in a five-goal thriller.

The first half between Ghana and Uganda ended in a drab draw but goals from Belinda Kpentey and Daniella Abass ensured they marked the competition as winners securing gold and cash of $300,00.

Ghana’s U-15 boys’ come back from a goal down to beat Uganda by 2-1 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. 

 



The Black Comets went down in the first half from Uganda captain Ashraf Kyakuwa strike.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

Forward Hakeem Kassim put the home side on the chance to secure bronze as he capitalized on the defensive frailties of the Uganda boys to make the score line, 2-1.

Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team assuaged the pain of failing to secure the final slot by picking bronze after beating Uganda.



The boys lost narrowly to defending champions, Tanzania in the semi-finals of the tournament.
The visiting team drew first blood through their captain Ashraf Kyakuwa in the first half.

The second half was a completely different game to the first as the Ghanaian boys played with enough grit, composure, and purpose which saw their efforts rewarded through midfielder Eric Addai to level things up.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS :

The defending champions, Tanzania, made their superiority count as they edged an early lead in the first half of the game.

It was all joy for Ghana’s U15 girls’ team as they advanced to the finals of the ongoing  CAF African Schools Football Championship at the expense of defending champions, South Africa.

 



The host nation progressed to the semi-finals without conceding a goal, scoring six and picking up nine points from their games.

Ghana took the lead early in the first half through Jennifer Awuku.    brought the South Africans level just before halftime.

However, South Africa’s Lisa Kayanka levelled things up for the visiting team.

Captain of the Black Damsels, Hajara Adam, led by example as she struck the ball perfectly from the centre line two minutes after halftime, beyond the reach of the South African goalkeeper.

Rahama Mohammed extended the lead for Ghana with a beautiful curler in the 29th minute, but South Africa managed to reduce the deficit.

The Ghanaian girls progressed to the finals of the competition for the first time and will meet Uganda on Saturday, April,26,2025.

Ghana’s U15 girls’ team got the better of South Africa to book a place in the CAF African Schools Football Championship finals 

 



The host nation progressed to the semi-finals without scoring a goal, scoring six and picking up nine points from their games.

Ghana took the lead early in the first half.

However, South Africa responded with an equaliser to level things up.

The Damsels netted two quick goals, taking the scoreline to 3-1.

MACTH HIGHLIGHTS :

The defending champions’ late surge saw them get a consolation goal, but that was not enough for them to get back into the game.

The Ghanaian girls progressed to the finals of the competition for the first time and will meet their opponents on Saturday, April,26,2025.
