The Ghana Women’s premier league week 2 brought some exciting games.



Northern Zone

Northern Ladies 0-1 Kumasi Sports
Northern Ladies suffered a home defeat. Joyce Asamoah’s lone goal secured 3 points for Kumasi sports Academy as they beat Northern in their own backyard.

Supreme ladies 1-0 Fabulous Ladies

Supreme ladies continued their unbeaten run as they silence their city rivals Fabulous Ladies courtesy to Sandra Owusu Ansah’s 74th minute’s goal at Ejisu Okesse Park on Saturday.

Ampem Darkoa ladies 2-0 Pearlpia Ladies

Ampem Darkoa ladies recorded their first win by beating Pearlpia ladies 2-0. A brace from Ophelia Amponsah was enough for the home side to bag the 3 maximum points.

Police Ladies beat Sea Lions by a lone goal at their own backyard. Grace Animah scored the only goal in the game.

Thunder Queens 4-5 LadyStrikers

It rained goals as Thunder Queens clashes with the LadyStrikers in a 9 goals trailer. LadyStrikers came back from behind to bag to whip Thunder Queens 4-5 at the home grounds.

Elizabeth Oppong gave the home side the lead on the 14th minutes, Gifty Dwamena extended the Thunder Queens lead on the 20th minutes. Catherine Arthur nicely converted a spot-kick awarded to them of the 36th minutes to draw one back for the LadyStrikers.

Suzzy Dede Teye struck at the 39th minutes to equalize for the away team, Sarah Inkoom later gave the home side the lead in 42nd minutes as the first half ends 3-2 in favor of the visitors.

LadyStrikers came into the second half with much energy to double their lead just 4th minutes through Gifty Addai before Vivian Konadu clawed one back for the home side on the 56th minute.

Catherine Arthur record her name on the score sheet again to put the away team in the comfortable lead.
Esther Moffat scored to reduce the deficit of the home side.

Soccer Intellectuals 1-3 Berry Ladies

Berry Ladies continues to shine as the thrush Soccer Intellectuals 3-1

Ajumaku Felicity Asante bagged a hat-trick to ensure Berry Ladies thrushes Soccer Intellectuals at their own backyard.

Adina Akpo beautiful converted a spot-kick awarded to the host on the 18th minutes to put them in the lead.

The visitors responded quickly just 9th after the host broke the virginity of the game from the spot-kick when Felicity Asante made good use of the penalty awarded to them.

Felicity Asante fined the back of the net in again on the 30th minutes to give the visitors the lead. The first half ended 2-1 in favor of Berry Ladies.
Felicity recorded her third goal in the 53rd minutes to secure the game for the visitors.

Ghana Womens Premier League WK 1: Abdulai Mukarama opens season with Hat trick

Mukarama Abdulai announced her presence with a hat-trick in the 2020-2021 Women’s Premier League Matchday one as Northern Ladies whipped Ashtown ladies 3-1 at Paa Joe Park on Saturday.



Constance Achiaa’s late strike canceled out Black Queens midfielder Priscilla Okyere’s goal as Kumasi Sports Academy shared points with Ampem Darkoa ladies.

Supreme ladies shocked Prisons Ladies after beating them 2-1 at home through Nancy Amoah and an own goal from Janet Apana.

Pearlpia ladies were also held to split points by Fabulous ladies.

While in the Southern zone, Berry Ladies recorded their first home win after beating Immigration Ladies 2-1 at the Madina Astro turf on Saturday.

Hassaccas ladies also recorded their first away win courtesy to a brace from Veronica Appiah as they beat LadyStrikers 2-1.

While the game between Police Ladies and Thunder Queens, Soccer Intellectuals and sea lions game have scheduled to Wednesday due to the delay of their Covid-19 results.

Ghana Women’s Premier League 2020/21 fixtures released

The Ghana Football Association has released fixtures for the 2020/21 Ghana Women’s Premier League season which is scheduled to kick off on Friday, January 15, 2020 across the country.



The upcoming season is expected to run through till June 14, 2021.



Prison Ladies, Kumasi Sports Academy, Ashtown ladies, Soccer Intellectuals, Police Ladies, Halifax Ladies and Lady strikers will all begin the new season at home whereas Ampem Darkoa FC , Sea Lions FC and Immigration Ladies will be on the road on Matchday 1 of the season.

Kumasi Sports Academy will welcome neighbors Ampem Darkoa FC with the game between Lady strikers and Hasaacas Ladies FC promises to be a cracker.

Weekend matches may be played on Fridays, Saturday, Sundays or Monday

  • Midweek matches may be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays.
  • There may be double-headers at some match venues.
