Antoine Semenyo brought his Bournemouth chapter to a close in dramatic fashion, scoring deep into stoppage time to seal a thrilling 3–2 win over Tottenham Hotspur at the Vitality Stadium.

The Ghanaian winger, featuring for the 110th time for the Cherries and widely expected to be making his final appearance before completing a move to Manchester City, delivered the decisive moment in the 95th minute. Set up by David Brooks, Semenyo cut inside and rifled a right-footed effort into the far corner to secure all three points.

Bournemouth had earlier looked set to be denied victory after João Palhinha hauled Tottenham level in the 78th minute with a spectacular bicycle kick. With momentum shifting late on, it took a moment of individual quality from Semenyo to swing the contest back in the hosts’ favour.

The 26-year-old’s late intervention capped a memorable final outing and underlined the impact he has made during his time at the club. His departure comes after a productive campaign in which he registered 10 goals and three assists in 20 appearances.

Semenyo leaves Bournemouth having delivered one final decisive contribution, closing his spell at the club on a powerful note.

Ghanaian duo Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku were the heroes for Leicester City on Monday night, combining to secure a hard-fought 2–1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship.

Playing at the King Power Stadium, Ayew gave the Foxes an early advantage in the 18th minute, reacting quickest to a cut-back from Jordan James and finishing with determination. West Brom responded before the break, as Karlan Grant calmly found the net in the 34th minute to restore parity.

Just when the contest seemed headed for a draw, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku delivered the decisive moment deep into injury time. The winger calmly converted after being set up by Stephy Mavididi, sealing all three points for Leicester City.

Ayew’s strike takes his 2026 tally to one goal and one assist, while Fatawu’s goal is his first of the year and his fifth of the 2025/26 Championship season.

Leicester City currently sit 12th on the Championship table with 37 points.

Eredivisie, NAC has added André Ayew (36), a new striker to its squad. The experienced French-Ghanaian striker has signed a contract until the end of the current season, with a club option for another season in Breda.

According to the club, Ayew has passed up several (lucrative) opportunities in recent months, having been without a club since last summer. He played his last competitive matches at Le Havre in May 2025. In the meantime, Ayew has maintained his fitness at Nania FC, owned by his father and African football legend Abédi Pelé.

The Ghanaian international has over 120 caps (and 24 goals for his country), has a rich record. Ayew made his mark, particularly at Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United. He has almost 600 official appearances in the Champions League, Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Premier League, Championship, and the Turkish Super Lig, scoring over 160 goals in those competitions.

Speaking about his transfer to Breda Ayew said: “I’m someone who really enjoys challenges, both personally and as part of a team. I find that here at NAC. I want to do everything I can to help the club and my teammates. We’re in a situation where staying in the Eredivisie is the only thing that matters. The mental aspect is perhaps the most important thing in this situation. Together with our supporters, we must fight this battle head-on in the second half of the season.”

Technical Director Peter Maas explains Ayew’s arrival. “André is eager to help NAC in their fight for survival. That’s become very clear from our conversations. We’re currently in a difficult position with NAC. Ayew has also faced some tough times in his career. He’s a true sportsman who takes good care of himself. We believe that with his experience and specific qualities, he can be of value to NAC right now.”

Ayew joins head coach Carl Hoefkens’ squad immediately. NAC will resume training on Friday, January 2nd, at the BO Infra Training Complex in Zundert.

Ghana international Joseph Aidoo made a long-awaited return to the field over the weekend as Celta Vigo secured a 3-2 victory over Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga.

The central defender had been away with a hamstring injury since May and was included in the travelling squad for the game against Osasuna.

Coach Claudio Giraldez handed Aidoo a starting berth alongside Manuel Fernandez and Marcos Alonso in defense.

Ferran Jutgla opened the scoring for the visitors on the 26th minute mark, but they were pegged by two quick goals from Croat international Ante Budimir.

Ferran Jutgla was back on the score sheet to level things up, and 24-year-old Pablo Duran rounded off the win with a well-curated finish for Celta.

Aidoo has suffered numerous injuries in the past, including an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained while playing for the Black Stars in October 2023.

Now back in action, the 28-year-old will be hoping to secure more game time at the club level as the World Cup looms.

Major League Soccer suspended two players for a “potential violation of league rules” before their opening matches in the MLS Cup Playoffs this week.

Los Angeles FC’s Yaw Yeboah and Columbus Crew’s Derrick Jones were placed on administrative leave pending review, the league said in a Saturday, Oct. 25 statement.

MLS has so far declined to comment on why the players were suspended.

Yeboah, 28, has played in 23 games across all competitions with a goal for LAFC in 2025. He signed a two-year deal in January 2025, making $550,000 in guaranteed compensation.

LAFC acquired Yeboah from San Diego FC, which selected him in the 2024 MLS Re-Entry draft after Columbus did not re-sign him. He played 93 total games with Columbus from 2022 to 2024.

Yeboah started his career in Europe with England’s Manchester City in 2014 but did not play with the club. He made stops at French club Lille (2015-16), Dutch club Twente (2016-17), and Spanish clubs Real Oviedo (2017-18), Numancia (2018-2020), and Celta Fortuna (2019-2020). He also played for Wisła Kraków in Poland (2020-22) before joining MLS. Yeboah played with Ghana’s Under-20, Under-23, and Senior teams during his career.
