Eredivisie, NAC has added André Ayew (36), a new striker to its squad. The experienced French-Ghanaian striker has signed a contract until the end of the current season, with a club option for another season in Breda.

According to the club, Ayew has passed up several (lucrative) opportunities in recent months, having been without a club since last summer. He played his last competitive matches at Le Havre in May 2025. In the meantime, Ayew has maintained his fitness at Nania FC, owned by his father and African football legend Abédi Pelé.

The Ghanaian international has over 120 caps (and 24 goals for his country), has a rich record. Ayew made his mark, particularly at Olympique de Marseille, Swansea City, and West Ham United. He has almost 600 official appearances in the Champions League, Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Premier League, Championship, and the Turkish Super Lig, scoring over 160 goals in those competitions.

Speaking about his transfer to Breda Ayew said: “I’m someone who really enjoys challenges, both personally and as part of a team. I find that here at NAC. I want to do everything I can to help the club and my teammates. We’re in a situation where staying in the Eredivisie is the only thing that matters. The mental aspect is perhaps the most important thing in this situation. Together with our supporters, we must fight this battle head-on in the second half of the season.”

Technical Director Peter Maas explains Ayew’s arrival. “André is eager to help NAC in their fight for survival. That’s become very clear from our conversations. We’re currently in a difficult position with NAC. Ayew has also faced some tough times in his career. He’s a true sportsman who takes good care of himself. We believe that with his experience and specific qualities, he can be of value to NAC right now.”

Ayew joins head coach Carl Hoefkens’ squad immediately. NAC will resume training on Friday, January 2nd, at the BO Infra Training Complex in Zundert.

On Christmas Eve, Mile 7 Park came alive with laughter, excitement, and the simple joy of children being children. For the second consecutive year, young community leader Kodjo Deynoo organized a special gathering for children. An event born out of a deep desire to restore something many of us feel we’ve lost: community.

Kodjo reflects on how, growing up, everyone knew one another. Neighbours were familiar faces, and children grew up together. Today, that sense of togetherness is fading. This event, he explains, is his way of recreating that atmosphere—giving children a shared space to meet, play, and form memories together.

What makes the initiative even more powerful is its inclusivity. Kodjo believes that fun for children should never be divided by wealth. While many activities in the city are priced beyond the reach of ordinary families, this Christmas Eve gathering was intentionally made affordable so that every child, regardless of background, could take part.

The overwhelming turnout, parents trusting the vision, and children showing up in numbers, was deeply emotional for him. “It’s a blessing,” he says, pointing to the joy on the children’s faces as proof that the effort is worth it.

The event has also grown organically. What started as a simple idea at home has now become a seasonal project, improving with each edition. Lessons from the first year shaped the second, and plans are already forming for an even bigger and better third season.

Importantly, Kodjo is quick to emphasize that this is not a one-man effort. Friends, colleagues, and members of the community came together, contributing time, resources, and support. It is, in his words, “a manifestation of a greater group of people who believe in doing something good for children.”

As feedback continues to pour in from parents and residents, one thing is clear: initiatives like this matter. They remind us that sometimes, all it takes to change a community is a simple idea, a big heart, and the willingness to bring people together, especially for the sake of the children.

On October 1, 2025, the Ghanaian football landscape welcomed a new player in talent development as Kick Nation Sports Agency was officially launched in Accra. The agency, led by its CEO Wu Nam Haruna, son of Ghana’s current Education Minister Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, aims to transform the country’s football scouting system by identifying young talents and connecting them with opportunities abroad.

The event brought together several notable figures from the sporting and entertainment world. Ghanaian football icons such as Asamoah Gyan, Baffour Gyan, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, and Fatawu Dauda graced the occasion, alongside industry leaders like Baba Sadiq and respected sports journalists. Their presence underscored the significance of Kick Nation’s entry into Ghana’s football ecosystem.

Speaking at the launch, the agency emphasized its mission to unearth raw talent across Ghana and build bridges with established international agencies. By doing so, Kick Nation hopes to create opportunities for players who may not have otherwise had the platform to showcase their abilities on the global stage.

Renowned FIFA agent Oliver Arthur also shared some words of advice with the young CEO, urging him to remain diligent and to ensure transparency in scouting. He cautioned against nepotism, stressing that fairness and meritocracy should guide the agency’s work if it is to succeed in the long term.

Kick Nation highlighted some of its early achievements, noting its role in developing talents like Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, who has already made significant strides in his career. This track record, combined with the agency’s ambitious vision, positions Kick Nation as a potential game-changer in the country’s football development space.

The launch event was not only a celebration but also a statement of intent. With the right guidance, Kick Nation Sports Agency could become a vital pillar in nurturing Ghana’s next generation of football stars.
