The Black Stars have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup as one of 42 countries.

FIFA approved a huge sum of money for participating countries, which are set to bag home huge sums for their participation in the upcoming World Cup.

The Black Stars is due USD 9 million in participation prize money, alongside an additional USD 1.5 million allocated to cover team preparation costs.

Hopefully, when the funds hit the coffers of the Ghana Football Association, they will be used for the general good of football development in the country.

The Black Stars have been housed in group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama and will be hoping to do better than their campaign in 2022, where they failed to qualify past the group stages.

The draw, held at a colorful ceremony in Washington, DC, in the USA, saw a host of personalities grace the occasion.
England was in Pot 1 with Croatia in Pot 2, while Ghana and Panama were placed in Pot 4.
Reacting to his team’s draw, Tuchel reiterated the need to respect all the opponents in the group and not to underestimate them while admitting that his team has been handed a tough group.
“We have Croatia and Ghana, two regulars in World Cups, and we have Panama,I don’t know much about Panama, but we will know everything about them when the tournament starts. For me personally, even in the Champions League, you have to focus on the group—the group is always the most difficult, and we want to escape, and we want to win the group. It’s a tough one.”

“Ghana is always full of talent and can always surprise, and has a big history in World Cup football,” he said. “Also, Panama will try to make the most of the underdog role. No one can be underestimated—everyone deserves the fullest respect, and we will show that.”

England will play Croatia in the opener and Ghana in the second game, while Panama will be the last game in Group L.
