On Christmas Eve, Mile 7 Park came alive with laughter, excitement, and the simple joy of children being children. For the second consecutive year, young community leader Kodjo Deynoo organized a special gathering for children. An event born out of a deep desire to restore something many of us feel we’ve lost: community.

Kodjo reflects on how, growing up, everyone knew one another. Neighbours were familiar faces, and children grew up together. Today, that sense of togetherness is fading. This event, he explains, is his way of recreating that atmosphere—giving children a shared space to meet, play, and form memories together.

What makes the initiative even more powerful is its inclusivity. Kodjo believes that fun for children should never be divided by wealth. While many activities in the city are priced beyond the reach of ordinary families, this Christmas Eve gathering was intentionally made affordable so that every child, regardless of background, could take part.

The overwhelming turnout, parents trusting the vision, and children showing up in numbers, was deeply emotional for him. “It’s a blessing,” he says, pointing to the joy on the children’s faces as proof that the effort is worth it.

AFCON 2025 : Nigeria, Senegal bag wins as Benin stumble

The event has also grown organically. What started as a simple idea at home has now become a seasonal project, improving with each edition. Lessons from the first year shaped the second, and plans are already forming for an even bigger and better third season.

Importantly, Kodjo is quick to emphasize that this is not a one-man effort. Friends, colleagues, and members of the community came together, contributing time, resources, and support. It is, in his words, “a manifestation of a greater group of people who believe in doing something good for children.”

As feedback continues to pour in from parents and residents, one thing is clear: initiatives like this matter. They remind us that sometimes, all it takes to change a community is a simple idea, a big heart, and the willingness to bring people together, especially for the sake of the children.

The 2025/26 Women’s FA Cup Round of 32 produced a thrilling mix of emphatic victories, narrow wins, and standout performances as clubs battled for a place in the next stage of Ghana’s premier knockout competition.

Army Ladies were among the biggest winners of the round, powering past Valued Girls with a convincing 3–1 victory to underline their credentials as serious contenders. Epiphany Warriors also made a strong statement, thrashing Mepe Peace Ladies 6–0 in one of the most dominant displays of the round.

Hasaacas Ladies continued their impressive run with a 4–1 win over Essiam Socrates, while Supreme Ladies eased into the next round after a comfortable 3–0 victory against Northern Ladies. The biggest scoreline of the round came from Ampem Darkoa Ladies, who demolished Sung Shining Ladies 13–0 in a ruthless attacking performance.

Akosombo Ladies booked their place with a solid 2–0 win over Anlo Ladies, while Gyagba Ladies edged past Fosu Royal Ladies 1–0 in a tightly contested encounter. Samartex Ladies progressed without kicking a ball after Wisdom Ladies failed to show up for their fixture.

In other matches, Tamale Super Ladies secured a 2–1 win away to Anfaani Ladies, FC Savannah edged Fabulous Ladies 1–0, and Bolga Sharp Arrows defeated WA All Stars Ladies 2–0. Dreamz Ladies also impressed on the road, beating Nasara Ladies 5–1 to seal qualification.

Arm of God Ladies claimed a narrow 2–1 victory over Northern City Ladies, while Rootz Sistaz delivered a strong performance to defeat Ladystrikers 4–1. Sissamba Ladies were also among the teams advancing, seeing off Soccer Intellectuals with a 2–0 win.

One of the most talked-about fixtures of the round saw Jonina Ladies edge Cabfix Ladies 2–1 in a fiercely contested local derby. Despite the defeat, Cabfix made history by becoming the first team to score against Jonina this season, ending their perfect defensive run across all competitions.

With the Round of 32 concluded, attention now turns to the draw for the next stage, as the remaining teams continue their pursuit of Women’s FA Cup glory.

Cabfix Ladies bowed out of the Women’s FA Cup at the Round of 32 stage, but not without rewriting part of the season’s narrative, as they handed Jonina Ladies their first goal conceded in all competitions during a hard-fought 2–1 derby defeat at the Auntie-Aku AstroTurf.

The clash had the intensity of a local derby, with both teams sharing the same home venue despite Cabfix being listed as hosts. Jonina arrived with an impressive defensive record, having gone six matches without conceding in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and fresh from a comfortable 2–0 victory over Faith Ladies in the Round of 64.

Confidence was equally high in the Cabfix camp following their narrow 1–0 triumph over Oak Ladies in the previous round — a Premier League side — a result that set the tone for a bold performance against another top-flight opponent.

Jonina drew first blood early, opening the scoring in the 10th minute, but Cabfix refused to sit back. Their persistence was rewarded moments before the interval, as they pulled level in the 43rd minute to ensure the teams went into the break deadlocked at 1–1, ending Jonina’s season-long clean-sheet streak.

After the restart, Jonina’s experience and quality came to the fore, with the Premier League side finding the decisive breakthrough in the 58th minute. The goal proved enough to secure progression to the next round, though Cabfix continued to battle until the final whistle.

Despite the result, Cabfix Ladies left the competition with heads held high, earning widespread praise for becoming the first team to breach Jonina’s defence this season, while Jonina’s formidable league defensive record remains untouched as they march on in the FA Cup.

Richardson Takyi Jnr’s late strike for Santa Marta was enough to rescue a point against  CD Guijuelo at the  Luis Ramos Municipal Stadium.

The pair came into the game with an ambition of winning the derby of the season.
Both teams probed each other relentlessly for the breakthrough but failed to find the back of the net in the first half, with the game drawing blank, goalless.
With fourteen minutes to end proceedings, Alberto Martín opened the scoring for Guijuelo.
The game looked set to end in favour of the home team, but the lanky prolific forward Richardson scored for the away team to level the game at  1-1.
Richardson Jnr. will be hoping to continue his fine goal-scoring form for Santa Marta.

Division One League side King Faisal Football Club have formally filed a complaint to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, challenging the constitutionality of the Ghana Football Associations (GFA) ordinary congress and the resolutions passed during the last month’s meeting.

In a letter dated September 15, 2025, King Faisal, through its legal representative, Evans Adika Law, claimed that the GFA should not have held its congress because it was formally served with a notice of injunction.

‘‘The Ghana Football Association (GFA) was formally served with a legal challenge to the alleged Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 12, 2025, and the resolution allegedly passed during that meeting.’’

Subsequently, the club has written to Lausanne-based CAS, ostensibly to reverse the decisions taken by Congress on August 12 and address other ‘’irregularities’’.

‘‘This challenge, filed at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, seeks to address significant governance and procedural irregularities that undermine the legitimacy of the GFA’s actions related to and during the alleged AGM. King Faisal Football Club, asserts that the GFA’s inaction and actions, render the August 12, 2025, AGM and its outcomes invalid.’’

In the formal complaint, the club also indicated five reasons as basis for challenging the constitutionality of Congress;

  • Abridged Notice Period without the unanimous consent of members.
  • Undisclosed real and potential Conflicts of Interest involving the chairperson of the AGM.
  • Improper Bundling of issues voted on and over voting.
  • Denial of Poll after a show of hands.
  • Undue Influence.

King Faisal are also seeking the following reliefs from the CAS:

  • An injunction restraining the GFA from implementing or enforcing the resolution pending the outcome of this arbitration.
  • A declaration that the alleged AGM held on August 12, 2025, and the alleged resolution passed therein are null and void due to conflicts of interest and several procedural breaches.
  • An order recusing the GFA Executive council from participating in the remedial measures.
  • An order directing the GFA to amend the Normalization statute to comply with Ghanaian law and for subsequent registration with the ORC in compliance with Ghanaian law.
  • An order carving out the current President of the GFA from any future attempts to amend the terms of his office, while he is still in office. – Costs and any other relief the CAS deems fit to grant.

The club also contends that the GFA’s ‘‘inaction and actions, render the August 12, 2025, AGM and its outcomes invalid.’’ ‘‘Specifically, King Faisal Football Club asserts that GFA’s intentional failure to deposit the Normalization Statute with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC), following the FIFA Normalization Committee’s tenure from August 2018 to October 2019, is the foundation for several procedural missteps that ensued and warrant legal redress.’’

Otto confirmed in his pre-game interview that Kohn was still awaiting his FIFA clearance to make his debut, reason he wasn’t selected against Chad

“So, yeah, we had a lot of difficulties in Chad. One was also Derek. We didn’t get the FIFA approval. To that point, we were hoping that we got it, and up to now, we haven’t gotten it. I’m hoping that it will come tomorrow morning. This is the status quo,” Addo told reporters at the pre-match press conference.

The Ghana coach stressed that his selections are driven by quality rather than where players are developed. “In general, we are always open to any kind of players who are of Ghanaian descent. I always say it’s not about local players; it’s not about players from outside, or who are born in the diaspora. It’s about quality, and we are looking for all kinds of players. At the end, I have to choose,” he added.
