GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Hearts vs Medeama

In the last few weeks, Accra Hearts of Oak have been resolute with their performances in the league even though their competitors are also within touching distance of reclaiming the top spot; they have done everything within their realms to stay at the summit of the table.

This weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium, they come face-to-face with another setup, Medeama SC, that holds a long-standing ambition of winning the league, it’s first in the clubs history.

Samuel Boadu’s boys have won all their last five games at home an enviable feat in the league; the second team to coup most 33 points at home two shy of Dawu based Dreams FC, who has picked 35 points at home.

The home side are beaming with lots of confidence even though the only glitch to their fine form is their inability to break down their bitter city rivals Great Olympics a week past in a match that drew a large gathering to the stadium.

The Mauve and Yellow boys on the other hand are not enjoying the best of forms in the last five games, picking up a scanty 4 points aiding their overall 13 points playing away from home in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Yaw Acheampong will rely on the proficiency of Prince Opoku Agyemang, Ahmed Toure Zakaria Mumuni, who has combined efforts to score 12 goals in their last few outings aided by Richard Boadu, Tetteh Joseph, Yaro Ibrahim, and others.

This match presents an avenue for both sides in diverse ways to increase their point accumulated or close the gap at the top of the summit of the table.

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Eleven Wonders vs Hearts of Oak

Eleven Wonders are still reeling in deep pain after picking 5 points from 15 points in their last five games of which they will have to remedy when they face off with a resurgent Accra Hearts of Oak this weekend at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.

They have picked 22 points at home, an away loss to Karela United at the CAM Park is still fresh in mind but a home fixture against Hearts of Oak should present them a fine opportunity to lift themselves up to a suitable position on the league log.

Coach Ignatius Osei Fosu has been under immense pressure from the fans for his sides stuttering performances in over 20 games in the ongoing league.

Samuel Boakye, Michael Tetteh has been the primary source of goals for the Techiman based side but they will have to play above their normal weight levels against the Rainbow side.

Samuel Boadu and his boys have recovered from a shocking away loss to Dreams FC at Dawu to register three consecutive victories over King Faisal, Bechem United, and Elmina Sharks which has dramatically seen them occupy the 2nd position on the log 2 points shy of their arch-rivals Kotoko.

Salifu Ibrahim has settled quickly into his new fold becoming a key cog for the Phobians, Victor Aidoo may have missed a penalty in his sides 2-0 victory over Sharks but his involvement in the attacking force coupled with that off K.Obeng Junior, Isaac Mensah cannot be underestimated.

Predictions: Eleven Wonders 1– 1 Hearts of Oak

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Hearts of Oak vs King Faisal

Samuel Boadu’s Hearts of Oak are at it again and this time it’s against a struggling outfit, King Faisal at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The pair comes into this fixture with varied motivation; the home side has since picked 7 points from a possible 15 points in the last five games of the league.

A week ago, they lost to Dreams FC at the Dawu Park, which affected their title ambitions. With that said, they have the opportunity to remedy it when they play King Faisal over the weekend in week 23 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2021 season.

King Faisal on the other hand, are still drooling in the relegation pool since the start of the league, it’s looking as though, they might return to the championship if they fail to switch up results back in their favor.

The club is under a huge financial debt, the sole financier of a team, Alhaji Grunsah has been unwilling to allow others to come on board to support the club financially having adverse effects on the side even though the Veep Alhaji Bawumia has in recent times aided the club with an ultra-modern bus.

On the field of play, they will have to play above their weights, having picked only 5 points away from home. The likes of Kwame Preprah, Frimpong Boateng have been the primary source of the club’s goals, as such; they will have to be in the strides to hit the back of the net.

The Biribies have since picked only two points on the road, a feat needing ratification starting with the match against the Fire boys if they want to add up to their 27 points they have amassed in the league.

Hearts of Oak have an edge over King Faisal in fifteen games they have played against each other, the home side has won 5, and the away side has won 3 with the others in draws.

Prediction: Hearts of Oak 3-0 King Faisal

GPL Match Preview and Prediction: Karela United vs Hearts of Oak

Almost all Ghana Premier League clubs bar Kumasi Asante Kotoko have fallen face flat at the Cross Awuah Memorial Park in the ongoing Ghana Premier League 2020-21 season.

The home “faithfuls” have been hugely dominant at home making it a fearsome ground for any club to
visit in the league.

This weekend, they have a resurgent Hearts of Oak side, who are grinding results the hard way in the
league under the tutelage of Samuel Boadu tasked with the mandate of helping the club end it's over a
decade wait for the league.

The Phobians are coming into this fixture having posted a narrow victory over Inter Allies at the Accra
Sports Stadium whiles their host have had a torrid campaign picking a paltry point from a possible nine
in three matches.

The downturn of events at Karela United seems to have affected their scoring fortunes, as the club’s
strike duo of Diawise Taylor and Kwame Boateng haven’t been at their lethal best in the last three
games.

A win for any of the duo will aid their title ambitions, Karela United will look to get one over Hearts of
Oak to end their bad patch of form whiles the latter will also want to add to their nine points they have
since picked away from home.

Prediction: Karela United 1-1 Hearts of Oak

This weekend’s pile of matches witnessed shocking results across some of the match venues in the country. Some of the teams did themselves proud as others will stare hard in the mirror at what hit them over the weekend.

Interestingly, Liberty Professionals was the only away side that defied odds to post a narrow victory over Eleven Wonders at the Obuasi Ley Clay Stadium, their second win of the second round in the league.

Bechem United made a mockery of their regional rivals, Aduana Stars when they dispatched them with ease at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park by four goals, Accra Hearts of Oak, Berekum Chelsea, Medeama SC made the most of their home advantage securing vital wins over Inter Allies, Ebusua Dwarfs, Legon Cities respectively.

Great Olympics failed to do a double over inform Kumasi Asante Kotoko when the pair played out a drab goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday night.
