The Black Queens of Ghana secured a 4-1 victory on Sunday when they faced Togo women team in a friendly game at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.




A brace from Gladys Amfobea and Evelyn Badu did the magic as the Black Queens registered a commanding victory.

Amfobea opened the scoring in the 29th minute before adding her second goal 8th minutes later through a penalty kick. The first half ended 2-0.

Hasaacas Ladies midfielder Evelyn Badu scored seven minutes into the second half to stretch the lead for her side.

Togo grabbed one goal in the 87th minute through Adinda Akpo before Evelyn Badu completed her brace with a 90th-minute strike to seal the victory for the Black Queens.

The game serves a preparatory game for the Black Queens as they will face Kenya in the third round of the African qualifiers to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games women’s football tournament.

WAFA SC beat Togolese club ASCK in friendly game

WAFA came out victorious in an international friendly game against Togolese club ASCK on Sunday at Sogakope, WAFA recorded a 2-1 win.




WAFA opened the scoring through Daniel Lomotey who found the back of the net in the 15 minutes.

ASCK leveled after 24 minutes before Gideon Akunnor scored a 75th-minute penalty to seal the victory for the academy boys.

WAFU Women’s Cup: Ghana Black Queens demolish Togo


Ghana Black Queens were outstanding in their second game in the competition as they thrash Togo 6-0 on Friday at the Stade Robert Champaoux.

Mukarama Abdulai opened in the scoring in the 45th minute just before the half time.

Alice Kusi scored twice after the break, she scored their second in the 53rd minute and third in the 65th minute of the game before Grace Asantewaa scored in the 77th minute to make it 4-0.



Mavis Owusu scored twice in the closing minutes to seal the big win for the Ghana Black Queens.

Mavis Owusu was awarded the best player of the match.

The Queens have qualified for the semi-final stage.



Ghana will play host nation Ivory Coast in the final group game on Monday 13 May, 2019 in a battle for the top spot position.

Black Meteors player Kwabena Owusu has expressed his desire to play for the Black Stars after his outstanding performance in the U-23 AFCON qualifier game against Togo in Kumasi.

The Salmantino UDS forward was all smiles as he reveals his desire to play for the Black Stars in an interview after the game.

“Oh yeah, it’s my dream to play for the Black Stars. It’s not only me but I think every member of this squad will say same if you ask him this question,” Owusu said.

“I’m happy with the goals I scored but the job is not done until we play the second leg.”

Asante Kotoko put three past Black Meteors in friendly game

Owusu scored 8 goals in 16 games for Salmantino in the first round of the 2018/19 Spanish Segunda B Division.

Black Meteors will travel to Lome for the second leg, and Owusu will be looking put out another great performance.

Ghana outclassed Togo in a 5-1 victory in the first leg of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Tuesday in Kumasi.

The first goal was scored in the 18th minute by Owusu who brilliantly put the back of the net after dribbling past two Togolese defenders.

Ghana had a chance to double their lead after Joel Fameyeh was brought down inside the Togo penalty area by Messan Toudji, but Fameyeh couldn’t punish Togo as his penalty kick was saved by Togolese goalie Abdoul-Moubarak Aigba.

Super sub Asamoah Gyan grabs win for Kayserispor

Thibault Klidje scored for Togo five minutes later after connecting with Yenoussi Guillaume’s free kick.

Ghana improved very well in the second half. Osman Bukari scored in the opening minutes of the second half.

Owusu scored in the 69th minute and completed his hat trick a minute later.

Yakubu Nassam Ibrahim came in as a substitute and was lucky to find the net.

The result gives Black Meteors a huge advantage ahead of the second leg in Lome on Saturday.

Winner of this tie will face Gabon in the next round of the qualifiers for the next year’s competition in Egypt.

Black Meteors coach Ibrahim Tanko revealed that he will invite foreign-based players to beef up squad ahead of their CAF U23 Qualifying game against Togo.

Black Meteors were outclassed by Asante Kotoko on Sunday in a friendly ga,e at the Accra Sports stadium.

While speaking to the meadia after the game, Ibrahim Tanko revealed that he will invite the services of foriegn-based players to help achieve their goal.

“We are going to have some foreign players in the team. This game has given me a fair idea about the team and the players we can work on. Because we only have nine days to prepare for the game. With the foreign and the local players I think we can build a good team” he said

He also added that they might play another friendly before their game against Togo.

“I think by two or three days I will have some of the foreign base players who are already here. And then others will join few days before the game. If I have those who are here and I think we need friendly games definitely we have to play all friendly game before the Togo game”

The Black Meteors will play the first leg at the Baba Yara stadium on the 18th of December 2018 and will play the second in Togo four days later.
