Nigeria Super Eagles are into the semi-finals after beating South Africa 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Chukwueze opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 27th minute of the game as Nigeria finished the first forty-five minutes in front.

Bogani Zungu grabbed the equalizer for South Africa in the 71st minute before William Troost-Ekong scored the winner for Nigeria.

Ahead of Ghana’s crucial game against Guinea-Bissau in their final group game in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah believes Ghana will qualify to the next round and will beat any opponent they meet.

Ghana might meet Nigeria in the round of 16 if they qualify, and Kwesi Appiah has stated that his team will be ready for the encounter.

“Nigeria are our brothers and anytime we meet them it is like a World Cup match but I am hopeful that once we qualify, we will beat any team in the last 16,” Appiah said.

If Ghana win and Cameroon beat Benin, the Black Stars will finish second in Group F and will face Nigeria, who finished behind Madagascar in Group B, in the last 16.
